When you apply to American Insuring Group Ltd. for insurance, you disclose information about yourself to us. The collection, use and disclosure of such information is regulated by law.
We obtain most of our information directly from you. The application you complete, as well as any additional information you provide generally gives us most of the information we need to know. Sometimes we may contact you by phone or mail to obtain additional information. We may send someone to inspect your property and verify information about its value and condition. A photo of the property we insure might be taken. For purposes of credit reporting, verification and risk management, we will obtain information about you from reputable reference sources and clearinghouse services.
We do not disclose any nonpublic information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. In some cases this may mean information can be disclosed to third parties without authorization.
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal regulations to guard our nonpublic personal information. We also limit employee access to personally identifiable information to those who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We also instruct our employees so that they will understand the importance of confidentiality of personal information and take appropriate measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
As a valued customer, we respect your privacy concerns. In the event of future changes in our privacy policy, we will provide you an updated notice.
Our firm receives compensation (cash or otherwise) that is based in part on factors such as persistency or profitability of the business we place with insurance carriers. The cost of this compensation may be directly or indirectly reflected in the premiums of the products.
